Cinema Paradise is a collaborative initiative started in May 2017. Ninad Kulkarni, the founder and head writer is a 22-year old is a self-proclaimed film critic after being mentored by National Award-winning film critic Mr. Baradwaj Rangan and Pulitzer finalist Ms. Stephanie Zacharek (Time Magazine) at the Young Critics Lab ’17. Cinema Paradiso (1988), an Italian film which has left a strong impression is the foundation:
“Just like the coming-of-age boy in Cinema Paradiso (1988) in WWII Italy develops a lifelong love affair with cinema, I developed affair at the age of 5 and since then it’s a paradise. Welcome to Cinema Paradise!”
Cinema Paradise is now prominently reviewing Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Marathi Films. Along with film analysis of Indian as well as World Cinema, and coverage of Film Festivals.
Amey Sirdeshmukh – Graduated in Painting, looks at Cinema as a form of art. Being a visual communicator, he writes enthusiastically about a major visual language, Cinema. Being an artist Satyajit Ray’s Pather Panchali (1955) left a strong impact on him.
